Sirius Minerals and members of its executive team have been selected to participate in the eMiner Mentorship Programme implemented by Jacaranda Hub, where the company will serve as a Local Service Provider (LSP) supporting artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) groups in Zambia's North-Western Province.

Jacaranda Hub is a Zambian innovation and enterprise development organization that works to strengthen entrepreneurship, skills development, business growth, and economic inclusion through targeted capacity-building programmes. Through the eMiner initiative, the organization seeks to support ASM communities by improving business practices, operational capabilities, and access to opportunities that contribute to sustainable sector growth.

Under the programme, Sirius Minerals will provide technical mentorship, business development support, and specialized training to participating ASM groups over the next 12 months. Drawing on the company’s experience in mining ecosystem development, mineral trade, formalisation strategies, and digital innovation, Sirius will help miners strengthen their operational readiness and long-term commercial sustainability.

The mentorship programme will focus on key areas including mineral market access, responsible mining practices, business formalisation, cooperative development, value-chain participation, and opportunities for leveraging technology within the ASM sector.

The engagement reflects Sirius Minerals’ broader commitment to supporting mining communities beyond technology deployment alone. As the developer of the Sirius Mineral Trade Platform (Sirius-MTP™️), the company recognizes that successful sector transformation requires both digital infrastructure and human capacity development.

According to executives, strengthening skills, knowledge, and business capabilities among ASM operators is essential to unlocking greater economic participation and ensuring that mining communities can fully benefit from emerging opportunities within Zambia's growing mineral economy.

The partnership with Jacaranda Hub further aligns with the company’s vision of building a more inclusive, professionalized, and sustainable ASM sector, one that is better equipped to participate in local, regional, and international mineral markets.

Over the coming year, Sirius Minerals looks forward to working alongside miners, cooperatives, community leaders, and programme stakeholders to help create stronger foundations for responsible and commercially viable artisanal and small-scale mining across North-Western Zambia.
